The Integrated Cold Chain & Value Addition Infrastructure component of PMKSY funds a continuous cold chain from farm to consumer for non-horticulture produce, dairy, meat, poultry and marine (excluding shrimp). Revised operational guidelines were issued in May 2025.
Every project must include Farm Level Infrastructure and a Processing Centre, plus at least one of a distribution hub (cold storage) or refrigerated vehicles.
Grant-in-aid of 35% in general areas and 50% in difficult areas (ITDP, NE, Himalayan) / for SC-ST, FPOs and SHGs, up to ₹10 crore, released in three equal instalments tied to progress. New projects only (no expansion/upgradation). Land, admin buildings, furniture, working capital and irradiation chambers are ineligible.
