MoFPI provides financial assistance to set up NEW food testing laboratories with NABL accreditation, covering tests for drinking water, food and packaging material. The lab must be commercial and open for public / industry use (not in-house).
The grant is generous and specifically supports equipment, NABL fees and mandatory LIMS software.
Grant-in-aid of 50% of eligible equipment cost in general areas and 70% in difficult areas / for SC-ST and FPOs, up to ₹5 crore. NABL fees and Certified Reference Materials are fully covered (including GST), LIMS software is mandatory and eligible, and equipment above ₹1 lakh basic cost qualifies. Released in three instalments (50% / 40% / 10% after NABL).
