For farm-linked and horticulture projects, the National Horticulture Board (NHB) — under the Ministry of Agriculture — is often the best-fit funding route, particularly for cold storage and post-harvest infrastructure.
How the NHB subsidy works
NHB provides a credit-linked, back-ended capital subsidy: the subsidy is parked in your loan account and released after the project is successfully implemented and verified. Rates and ceilings depend on the component and region. Full details are on our NHB subsidy page.
What NHB funds
Commercial horticulture production, cold storage and controlled-atmosphere (CA) storage, and integrated post-harvest management. For larger integrated cold chains, compare with the MoFPI Integrated Cold Chain scheme to choose the best fit.
Who can apply and how
