Quality infrastructure is a national priority, and MoFPI's Food Testing Laboratory scheme offers some of the most generous grants available — especially for government and institutional labs.
The grant pattern
Government organisations receive 100% of the eligible cost of approved equipment; private organisations receive 50% in general areas and 70% in difficult areas / for SC-ST applicants. In addition, 2% of the equipment cost or ₹15 lakh (whichever is lower) is provided for civil work and furniture. Full details are on our Food Testing Laboratory scheme page.
Why NABL accreditation matters
NABL accreditation is central to a lab's credibility and to the scheme itself. It also unlocks demand from exporters and clusters that need reliable testing — a natural complement to APEDA-supported export projects.
